Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Frontiers in Interdisciplinary Applied Science invites researchers to submit high-quality manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of interdisciplinary applied science. To ensure a smooth submission process, please adhere to the following guidelines:

Manuscript Types

- Original Research Articles: Detailed studies presenting new and significant findings.
- Review Articles: Comprehensive overviews of recent developments in specific interdisciplinary fields.
- Perspectives: Short articles offering insights or opinions on current trends and future directions.

Manuscript Preparation

General Formatting

- Language: Manuscripts must be written in English.
- Document Format: Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word or LaTeX format.
- Font: Use a standard font (e.g., Times New Roman, 12-point).
- Line Spacing: Double-spaced throughout.
- Margins: 1-inch margins on all sides.

Structure

1. Title Page: Include the title of the manuscript, author names, affiliations, and contact information for the corresponding author.
2. Abstract: Provide a concise summary (150-250 words) of the research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
3. Keywords: List 4-6 keywords relevant to the study.
4. Introduction: Outline the background, significance, and objectives of the research.
5. Materials and Methods: Describe the experimental procedures and methodologies in detail.
6. Results: Present the findings with appropriate use of tables, figures, and charts.
7. Discussion: Interpret the results, discuss their implications, and compare them with existing literature.
8. Conclusion: Summarize the main findings and suggest future research directions.
9. Acknowledgments: Recognize any funding sources, contributors, or institutions.
10. References: Use a standard citation format (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago). Ensure all references are complete and accurate.

Figures and Tables

- Resolution: Ensure all figures and images are of high resolution (300 dpi or higher).
- Format: Submit figures in JPEG, PNG, or TIFF format.
- Tables: Create tables using the table function in Word or LaTeX, not as images.
- Captions: Provide clear and concise captions for all figures and tables.

Submission Process

1. Online Submission: Submit your manuscript through our online submission portal. Follow the step-by-step instructions provided.
2. Cover Letter: Include a cover letter outlining the significance of your research and its relevance to the journal’s scope.
3. Ethical Compliance: Confirm adherence to ethical standards in research and publication, including necessary approvals and consent.
4. Conflict of Interest: Disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to the research.

Peer Review Process

- Initial Screening: The editorial team will conduct an initial review to assess the manuscript's suitability for the journal.
- Peer Review: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will undergo a double-blind peer review process by at least two independent reviewers.
- Revision and Resubmission: Based on reviewer feedback, authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts. Revisions should be submitted promptly with a detailed response to reviewers’ comments.
- Final Decision: The editorial team will make the final decision on acceptance or rejection based on the reviewers’ recommendations.

Post-Acceptance

- Proofreading: Authors will receive proofs for final review and correction.
- Publication: Accepted manuscripts will be published online and included in the next available issue.

Open Access and Fees

- Open Access: The journal operates on an open-access model, making all articles freely available to readers.
- Publication Fees: Authors may be required to pay a publication fee. Fee waivers or discounts may be available for authors from low-income countries or those with limited funding.
