1. Introduction

Frontiers in Interdisciplinary Applied Science (FIAS) is committed to providing high-quality services to authors, institutions, and readers. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which refunds may be granted and the procedures for requesting refunds.

2. Types of Refunds

2.1. Author Fees

  • Submission Fees: If a manuscript is withdrawn by the author before peer review has begun, a full refund of the submission fee will be issued.
  • Publication Fees: If a manuscript is accepted for publication, the publication fee is non-refundable, except in cases where there is a proven error on the part of the journal.

2.2. Subscription Fees

  • Individual Subscriptions: Refunds for individual subscriptions are not typically provided once the subscription period has started. However, if a subscription is canceled within 30 days of purchase and no issues have been accessed, a full refund may be issued.
  • Institutional Subscriptions: Refunds for institutional subscriptions are not typically provided once the subscription period has started. Cancellations made within 30 days of purchase may be eligible for a partial refund based on the unused portion of the subscription.

2.3. Print Orders

  • Orders Not Yet Shipped: Full refunds are available for print orders that have not yet been shipped. Refund requests must be made within 30 days of placing the order.
  • Orders Already Shipped: Refunds are not provided for print orders that have already been shipped. However, if the print copy arrives damaged or defective, the journal will provide a replacement or a refund for the defective copy.

3. Requesting a Refund

To request a refund, please follow these steps:

  • Submission: Submit a refund request in writing to the editorial office, including details such as the order or manuscript ID, reason for the refund request, and supporting documentation if applicable.
  • Processing Time: Refund requests will be reviewed and processed within 14 business days. The requester will receive a confirmation email once the refund has been approved or if additional information is required.
  • Method of Refund: Refunds will be processed using the same method of payment used for the original transaction. For payments made by credit card, refunds will be credited back to the original card. For payments made by bank transfer or other methods, refunds will be made to the same account or method.

4. Exceptions and Special Circumstances

  • Errors on the Part of the Journal: In cases where there is an error or fault on the part of the journal, such as incorrect billing or publication issues, refunds or adjustments will be made as deemed appropriate by the editorial team.
  • Exceptional Circumstances: Requests for refunds due to exceptional circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and decisions will be made at the discretion of the editorial team.
